Ways-of-working audit

Finds where time actually goes today, so GO designs squads around real friction rather than assumed process. Runs during STOP; feeds both the remediation backlog and the squad / delivery-cadence design.

The method

  1. Value-stream mapping per squad — the real flow from idea to production, with wait times. Wait time, not work time, is usually the enemy.
  2. SPACE survey across UK and India — satisfaction, performance, activity, communication, efficiency — to catch the friction a process map misses (context-switching, unclear ownership, tooling gaps).
  3. Friction list — ranked, feeding the remediation backlog and the GO squad/cadence design.

Why it's a STOP task

You can't design the accelerated operating model in the abstract. The audit gives GO the real constraints — where hand-offs stall, where standards are missing, where the two geographies lose time — so the new ways of working fix actual problems. Feeds the UK–India collaboration and delivery cadence playbooks.
