Infrastructure cost review (FinOps)
Where STOP finds the money that funds the AI tooling. A costed, dated savings plan — explicitly earmarked so the funding line from "take cost out" to "fund token spend" is visible and honoured.
The method
- Tagging — get resources attributable to products/teams (a prerequisite for everything else).
- Idle & oversized — find unused and over-provisioned resources.
- Environment sprawl — non-prod environments that outlived their purpose.
- Licensing — unused or over-tier licences.
- Produce a savings plan — costed, dated, and earmarked to fund AI tooling and token spend.
The link to the funding case
This review is one side of the token-budgeting equation: STOP savings fund the token budgets that accelerated delivery consumes. The savings-vs-AI-spend reconciliation is a headline view on the metrics platform — so leadership can see the trade playing out.
